I’m Erica Ray, creator of the Caminos Spanish Story Club.
I’ve loved stories since long before I started learning Spanish. Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved the feeling of being transported somewhere else through a good book. Give me a rainy day, a cup of tea or hot chocolate, and a story I can get lost in, and I’m happy!
I come by that love naturally. Reading and writing have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I have my wonderful mom—an amazing writer and storyteller herself—to thank for much of that.
Years later, when I began learning Spanish, stories became part of that journey too. I fell in love with the language not only through fiction, but through the real-life stories shared with me by the wonderful Spanish-speaking friends I made along the way.
And eventually, my love of stories and my work with language came together.
I’m a Certified Language Coach, Spanish teacher, and former medical interpreter, and I’ve worked professionally with Spanish since 2007. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of Spanish learners through my programs and content.
Through that experience, I’ve seen just how powerful it can be when we stop treating Spanish as a collection of vocabulary lists and grammar rules and instead experience the language in meaningful context.
That’s a big part of why I created the Caminos Spanish Story Club: to give you stories you can get wrapped up in while intentionally developing the Spanish skills you want to improve.

Caminos combines a creative story, aimed at improving proficiency in one grammar area, combined with appropriate vocabulary that strengthens the intermediate learner's ability. It includes listening, reading, vocabulary, and speaking.
This program is self paced and easy to follow. It allows the learner to repeat sections as often as needed and has pdf transcripts (that highlight the grammar skill) to allow you to follow along with the story. There are also worksheets provided to help with the skill, vocabulary, and story plot.
Direct and Indirect object pronouns can be confusing in Spanish, but, after using this module I feel so much more confident in my understanding of their use.

Caminos Spanish Story Club is designed primarily for upper-beginner to intermediate Spanish learners (approximately A2–B2). It is not designed for complete beginners.
Story Club works across this range because each story focuses on a specific grammar concept that commonly challenges Spanish learners at different stages. Rather than simply teaching a grammar rule, you’ll see and hear that concept used naturally within a story and then work with it through comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and creation activities.
You can also adjust the level of support as your Spanish improves. Each story includes optional learning aids, such as Spanish captions, adjustable playback speed, transcripts, and an English-subtitled version. Use more support when you need it, then gradually remove those aids as your comprehension grows.
This makes Story Club especially useful if you’re at that frustrating stage where beginner Spanish feels too easy, but content created for native speakers still feels overwhelming.
